Nokia N96

The techniques used in the Nokia N96 advert. they use a 360  Degrees view of the phone so the viewer can see all of the phone. Also with the person walking over the c.d.'s shows you dont need your collection of c.d.'s were you can store them all in the phone.
Nokia have gone for the option where they explain in words what the phone has. The advert starts with an image of a Nokia N96 advertisement on a billboard, this is where the main actor in the advert sees the phone, the camera goes into his eye and then comes back out when the phone is in his hands. This shows to the audience that this man saw the phone and instantly wanted it. Next it mentions about watching videos on the handset, with clips from the latest movies (Batman and Indiana Jones) may intrigue the customer to think that they can watch their favorite movies on the actual phone, whenever they want. Next it highlights that you can use the internet on the handset, showing a logo of some common internet sites including YouTube.

Advertising up 11% online

Than Last year, article explaining this and the reasons why : http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-10104529-93.html

Creating

false needs for the customer is prominent in what the advert is trying to do, the 'dual screen technology' gives this luxury to the user but before Samsung created this no-body really needed it.  In the adverts the images do not attempt to be realistic, with the people being super imposed the surroundings they are in. However the style of the clothing and the surroundings show that it is futuristic, basically samsung have created this to look to the future and have this phone of the future. The stereotypical white and young models will attract the market, dressed in their futuristic clothing this will attract the customer to buy the phone. These are all technical codes of the advert, now i am going to look at the written codes. Very little text, but the words, 'You decide who to open your phone to' are the biggest words on the page attracting the customer to make there own decision to either look at the rest of the advert to see what its for, or not. From only having this as the main letters, Samsung must be confident that the dual screen technology of the phone will sell as no other features of the phone are advertised. The advert is trying to put the customer in control, the only way they are doing that is by making them buy it, then being in control of themselves. But its this false needs, no customer knew they needed two screens on one phone before samsung created it.

These are all related to poster advert, i will take all these points into account and then modify them to my TV adverts.
